INVITATION TO BID NOTICE is hereby given that the PORT OF KALAMA will be receiving SEALED BIDS at the Port Office, 110 West Marine Drive, Kalama, Washington 98625 until May 18, 2026, 11:00 AM, for the Port of Kalama Chemtrade Site Demolition project. The bids will then and there be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bids received after the published bid submittal time cannot be considered and will not be accepted by the Port. Bid packets containing plans, specifications, and detailed instructions to bidders may be obtained after April 27, 2026. Bid packages may be picked up at J2 Blue Print Supply Co., located at 8100 NE St. Johns Road, Suite B101, Vancouver, WA, or send your requests to bid@j2b.com. Printed plans and specifications are available for the cost of reproduction. Bidders must register in J2s plan center. The Work includes the requirements for the removal, in whole or in part, and satisfactory disposal of items identified within these Specifications or on the drawings including, but not limited to, the following: 1. A warehouse/manufacturing building containing office space, storage areas, loading docks, a utility room, and product manufacturing areas. The building is generally constructed with steel column and beam framing, sheet metal siding, and a concrete slab-on-grade foundation, and includes a concrete-lined subgrade tank vault with two former process tanks located inside the northern portion of the warehouse building. There are areas that abatement work will be needed to remove and dispose of Asbestos, Lead, and PSBs properly. 2. A concrete secondary containment area, which contains chillers and tanks formerly used to store wastewater, glycol, and dissolver, located adjacent to the northwestern portion of the warehouse/manufacturing building. 3. A process building that contains a zinc oxide dryer, a truck loading area, and three concrete secondary containment areas that contain process tanks and silos located on the north and northwest sides of the warehouse/manufacturing building. 4. An above ground storage tank (AST) used to store sulfur dioxide located on the southeast portion of the site. 5. Three compressed air ASTs located outside of and on the west side of the warehouse/manufacturing building. 6. A concrete lined stormwater pond located in the central portion of the site. 7. A railroad spur that traverses the southeast boundary of the site. 8. A river water pump house located on the southwestern portion of the site and decommission the well that the pump house serves. 9. A septic system located on the northeast portion of the site. 10. A Parshall flume associated with a non-contact cooling water discharge outfall located on the northwest portion of the site. 11. Miscellaneous concrete and steel structures (i.e. walls, bollards, elevated pads, guard rails, previously decommissioned groundwater monitoring/injection and extraction well monuments/well lids etc.). All contractors MUST comply with the prevailing wage and anti-discrimination laws of the State of Washington and pay all associated fees. The Port of Kalama will comply with the statutory retainage requirements for public works contracts. The Port of Kalama is an equal opportunity employer.
