INVITATION TO BID CITY OF LA CENTER Sealed bids will be received by the City of La Center, at the reception desk located in City Hall at 210 E. 4th Street in La Center, Washington until 10:00 AM. on January 6, 2026 and will then and there be opened and publicly read for the construction of the improvement(s) of the Public Works Facility Improvements project. All bids shall be placed in a sealed envelope which clearly states the name of the bidder, the date of the bid opening, and the title Public Works Facility Improvements. Bids not delivered in person to City Hall shall be enclosed in another envelope that is addressed to the attention of the City Engineer, City of La Center, 210 East 4th Street, La Center, WA 98629. Bidders may call the City Public Works Office to verify receipt of their bid. Bids that are mailed and not received by bid closing of 10:00 AM local time, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, will not be considered complete and will be forfeited. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashiers check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of La Center. The site will be re-graded to increase parking space and convey stormwater. The project includes erosion control, demolition, haul, disposal, grading, trenching, utility extensions, retaining walls, concrete foundations, framing, roofing, siding, paving, fencing, site restoration, and other work. The Plans and Specification provide the basis for site and building structural work. All electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and interior work will be designed, permitted, and installed by the contractor in collaboration with the City during the construction phase. All materials will be furnished by the Contractor. This project is financed through local funds. To bid this project you must attend one of the Prebid meetings, which will be held onsite November 20, 2025, at 8 AM or at 3:30 PM. You must attend one pre-bid meeting to bid on this project. The contract will require the payment and tracking of federal wages through Davis Bacon and will be subject to regulations of the U.S. Department of Labor. The higher wage rate between the Federal and State rates, at a minimum, shall prevail per WAC 296-127-025. Work shall be completed no later than July 17, 2026, and can commence upon receipt of Notice to Proceed. The Contract Award Date is scheduled for January 22, 2026.
