CALL FOR BIDS CITY OF CAMAS PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT NW BRADY ROAD IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT NO. S-587 Sealed bids will be received by the City of Camas, Administrative Services, 616 NE 4th Avenue, Camas, Washington 98607 until 10:00 A.M., on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, and will then and there be publicly read for the construction of the improvement. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashiers check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) 2018 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction (standard specifications), the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Camas. Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to Builders Exchange of Washington at www.bxwa.com and clicking on Posted Projects, Public Works, and City of Camas. Statement of Work: This Contract provides for the improvement of NW Brady Road from NW 16th Avenue to NW Pacific Rim Boulevard. The Project includes clearing and grubbing, roadway excavation, stormwater conveyance, treatment, and detention facilities, paving with HMA, cement amending, irrigation system, erosion control, curb/gutter, walls, sidewalk, traffic control, pavement marking, traffic signal system, illumination system, landscaping and other work, all in accordance with the attached Contract Plans, these Contract Provisions, and the Standard Specifications. The ultimate cross-section will include 3-lanes with sidewalk, bicycle lanes, planter strips, and street lighting. All materials are subject to the Buy America provisions as detailed in these documents and specifications. Work performed for the joint utility trench is considered electrical work and will require an approved electrical contractor per standard specification 8-20.1(1). Schedule Requirements: The Contractor is expected to coordinate with the appropriate utility companies and complete the joint utility trench as well as the two stormwater ponds before December 31st, 2019. The Contractor is obligated to pay the wage rates determined by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries Prevailing Wages, Rates for Clark County, effective August 13, 2019.
